Is this weird for a funeral speech?

As you probably know, my best friend killed himself recently and at the funeral I am going to say something, at that part where they ask if anyone has any words. I’ve written down a small speech. It’s in 2nd person, addressing my dear friend directly. Is that weird? I have two speeches, but I prefer the one where I’m just talking to him, not to the crowd directly.

But I don’t want it to be too weird, but I believe in the afterlife, that he can hear me still, and that his presence will always be there.

*PS, his family already knows I’ll be speaking even if it’s not a formal thing
