Have you ever listened to a speech by Elizabeth Warren from her professorial days?

I just came across this YouTube video and I just had to share it. It is a speech given by Warren at a college in 2007, a few years before she ran for the Senate and shortly before the start of the recent recession. The topic is the collapse of the middle class. The speech is just under an hour. I did not intend to listen to the whole thing, but I found that I was unable to turn away.

Warren starts out by presenting a bit of a mystery. She wanted to know why individual debt was increasing. In what areas were people spending more money? Do you think you know why? You may be surprised by the answers. Warren admits that she did not know. With humility and passion she shows what she learned from government statistics. She gradually builds her case, giving a solid argument and bringing in a fair number of statistics while managing to hold our interest.

If, as seems likely, the Democrats lose control of the Senate, I hope that Warren reconsiders her decision not to run for president in 2016.
