How can I best preserve this poster?

I have a poster that has some value already and it’s never been taken out of the cardboard tube it came in. Since I’m not into posters I want to store it without it taking damage. Is leaving it in the original tube best or is it bad for it to be rolled up so long? Any other ways to preserve the condition it’s in now?
