Is there any sort of psychological test people should have to pass to harvest souls for God?

If not, should there be?
It seems there should be an accountability for the mindset of persons who plan to spend their life leading people to their gods. So many perversions have come to light over the generations, and more so in the age of electronic communication. How does this persist? Is there no real accounting for persons, “Called to do God’s work”? Does anyone here know any specific guidelines in place for the purpose of culling out trouble?
side note, if it is God’s work, why is he/she just letting a bunch of human idiots do it for him/her?
