Have you ever used a single product so long that you had trouble adapting to a replacement?

I have used Schick disposable razors to shave my face for 20+ years, exclusively. They changed the design and doubled the price in the past year.

I have found a replacement that shaves even closer for ⅓ the price. The problem? They have the new mantis-body designed handle with comfort grips, etc., etc. I’m on my 3–4 week using them and it’s still awkward getting the angle/grip right and know where to trim to.

Have you ever had this problem with a discontinued product? Did you keep at it until you learned something completely new, or did you resort to finding a product with the closest physical characteristics, regardless of price/performance?
