Wrong timing?

Does anyone believe in meeting the right person at the wrong time?
I am totaly into this one man and he seems to be into me. He texts me “good morning” every day. He is in a band and that is his whole life, but he is not into groupies etc.. he’s mature and pretty much has a been there, done that attitude.
The thing is he has mentioned that at this time he doesn’t have time for a relationship and he’s mostly always out with his roadies and guy friends.
We are not in a friends with benefits situation but we do go out to lunch, dinner, movies…If he wants to be alone, why does he keep reaching out to me? i’m not anyone he could benefit from like promoters, music business etc…I’m just me.
I feel he likes me but something is holding him back..I’ve tried to back away several times and he just eventually comes back around.
Men are men, I know, I was just wanting to get opinions on this situation.
