How do they do the dinosaurs in a movie like Jurassic World?

I assume it is all computer generated. But I still don’t get how they create the smooth movement and the coloring, and all that stuff.
What is the software that drives all that stuff. Is it harder to master than Photoshop?
Is there a place on the internet that explains it well?

Or is just a guy in suit the way it was in the Godzilla movies
