Could you write a one-sentence story to break the day's tedium?

Just write a tight little sentence packed with related images that grabs the reader and takes them down a little path. True is nice, interesting is important, poignant is best. Feel free to comment and discuss as well. This is in Social for a reason.

Here are some examples:

One of the saddest things I’ve ever saw was a little bird that had frozen to death perched on a tree, alone.

I hope it’s not weird that I felt a sense of pride because I got a standing ovation when I finished delivering her eulogy.

There’s this romantic propaganda that you meet soul-mates at bookstores when in reality you just meet creepy baristas who follow you around until you’re reduced to hiding behind shelves and copies of Islamic Economics for Dummies.

I live in a town so small that the hospital is terrifyingly close to both the cemetery and the local taxidermist.

Is it weird that I had a better time talking to the stripper than getting a lap dance from her?

After reading everyone’s personal essay, I realized I was the only person in a class of twenty-three who didn’t smoke pot.

Just as my wife was telling our daughter that we couldn’t get a puppy because they pee all over the place, my son peed on the carpet.

There is no feminine itch so urgent that it can’t wait until you have every last bit of diced habaneros off your fingers.
