Have you used a chromebook?

My expensive, wonderful macbook pro is probably dead, as evidenced by my last question. So I need to replace it and I have no income and am a poor grad student. There aren’t a ton of options at that price point (let’s say $250 at most but $200 is better) and no one I know has used one of these cheap laptops. Has anyone here had experience with them? Is it going to be annoyingly slow?

I’m wary of going the used route and then spending more money I don’t have when it inevitably crashes.
