Do you have fun on a daily basis? What are some things you do that you consider fun?

Today, watching a television morning show, they cited some statistics that 68% of men and 34% of women say they have fun on a daily basis. I’m not really listening carefully so I missed part of what they were saying.

It got me thinking about what I do that I consider fun, and how the definition of “fun” is probably very different for different people. Maybe sports like biking or rock climbing, going to the beach or pool is fun, or participating in hobbies like crafts or cooking. To some, going to eat or drink with friends may be fun. Traveling may be fun. Maybe, something really simple may be fun, like playing with your children or joking with friends.

I don’t think my typical work day consists of fun. It’s stressful doing the morning commute, the evening commute (about 45 minutes each way – 40 miles), and then picking up my daughter and cooking for her, doing laundry, getting her into the shower and then ready for bed (she’s elementary school age, so this involves a lot of supervision). For me, something enjoyable may consist of relaxing, but I don’t have a lot of time like that and I don’t necessarily consider that “fun.”
