Why is it such a big deal that NASA discovered the likelihood of water on Mars. Is there politics involved here?

They already know there is water on Europa and Titan.
Comets are made of ice.
So Mars has water.
That’s nice.
Why is it a big deal.
Is there a political agenda in here somewhere?
