If someone has some annoying behavior that you wish would change, have you found that doing something just as annoying to them in response can change the behavior?

When my daughter was 16, 17 and I would question something she was doing, she’s respond with “Mutheerrrr. I know what I’m doo-ing!”
The teenage arrogance used to make me mad…until I began responding with “No. You don’t.”
After the 4th time she didn’t say it again.

Have you ever tried this kind of behavior modification?
