Why does hair in strange places grow so fast?

As I progress into my middle years, I have begun sprouting hairs in places I’ve never had hair before. My wife just pulled no less than 6 hairs of between ½ and 1 inch from my ear. (Only my right ear) Nose hair seems to bristle out overnight and I’m getting random hairs on my shoulders and back. They seem to just beam in from the Enterprise overnight. Am I reverting into a white guy as I get older? Why does this hair grow out so dadburned fast? Am I a Mutant?
