Why such an aversion to field homework questions but not fluff?

Over the years if anyone stated they needed input or help for a homework assignment, they have been told Fluther doesn’t play that. Yet, whole phalanxes of dim, trifling, questions are embraced with open arms. A question dealing with an assignment at least is dealing with something pertinent, and providing an actual use for someone, it would seem that would gain the site a bit more respectability. Why not do helpful question as much, if not more, than the fluff, less this place want to equal a cyber putt, putt, golf course instead of a championship 18-hole course?
