If you worked on the 2nd floor of an office building, would you usually take the stairs or the elevator?

I work on the second floor. I almost always take the stairs, unless I’m carrying something heavy that might put me off balance or won’t let me have at least one hand free. I’m not the Nija girl I used to be.

The building is over 100 years old. The stairs no way, no how meet today’s code! They’re very narrow. There are a few people I regularly meet on the stairs, and one of us has to wait at the landing. Everyone else in the building seems to take the elevator.

Last week was my first week and my thighs and buttocks hurt and I’m content.

Now, if only we could move to the 5th floor, I’d really be in shape. Or dead. Or both. I’d be a dead, in shape woman.
