A chip fell off my SD card, what can I do?

When I was taking my SD card out of my computer a small chip fell off. I still have the chip. I tried putting it back in my camera, but it didn’t recognise there to be an SD card. Would it be safe to glue it back on? If it can be fixed, it wouldn’t need to be a permanent solution. I would most likely just transfer all the photos to a new SD card. These photos are very important to me, so is there a way to fix it?
