When was the last time you stayed up all night?

I have been burning the candle at both ends for the last two weeks, getting ready for important company to come last Thursday, to stay until this morning (today is the following Sunday.) It was my Dad’s wife, Kathy.

We’ve been painting rooms, fixing walls, cleaning, cleaning, cleaning, OMG, cleaning! PLUS we had a family get together at the lake on Saturday planned, so I had to plan to feed about 20 people.

Friday we took Kathy to the lake, to camp in the RV. I finally was able to get some rest there, on Friday evening. I was soooooo tired.

We stayed up pretty late, drinking beer and wine and talking. Kathy went to bed at about 1, Rick and I turned in at about 2:00. We crawled in bed. About 3 minutes after I got in bed I pulled the sheets and blankets up over my head because that’s what I do. Almost instantly I started sneezing and sneezing. I must have sneezed 15 times. Then I could feel my nose swelling, so I couldn’t breath through it. Then I felt my throat swelling and it scared the shit out of me. I had to get out of that RV!

So I got out, and went and sat by the fire. Almost immediately I felt everything starting to relax and I could breath again, but I was really scared, terrified, to go back in to bed, so I sat by the fire all night. Watched the sun come up and listened to the morning birds doing their thing.

I was up all night and all the next day.

I had a pretty hard time functioning Saturday, especially with all the food prep, but I made it through, until was able to go to bed, at home, in my own bed, at about 1 a.m. last night / this morning.

Not sure how I survived that! I haven’t stayed up all night since I was a teenager.
