Any advice for an aspiring author?

I’ve written freely fairly irregularly throughout the years, never really having the confidence to go beyond that. There are a couple storylines that have stayed with me for a long time now and I think I’d like to make something more of them. So, looking for advice on writing books (novel/series). How to structure, etc. Also, if there’s anything specific that you really dislike in a book.
