Why does the two-finger scroll function on my trackpad quit occasionally?

I have a Dell XPS 13 that is 1 year old. I’m running Windows 10.
When the computer has been on a long time, the ability to use 2 fingers to scroll on the screen quits. I also cannot touch the screen to scroll. It’s very interesting that both those functions are affected.
I have done some searches online, but the forums that I’ve found don’t help.
One more thing, it’s not permanent. After a while, the ability to do the two-finger scroll returns, and then again, it goes away after a while.
Do you know what’s going on, and do you know how I can fix it? Or can you find a forum or help page with the solution?
