Have you ever watched a documentary that caused you to burst into tears?

I’ve watched about 4 of 7 episodes of “The Keepers” on Netflix. It’s about the horrible sexual and emotional abuses many girls in a Catholic high school suffered in the late 60s at the hands of two sadistic priests.
They were just 13, 14, 15 years old and helpless. The priests wielded their power over them in the name of God, telling them they’d go to hell if they didn’t cooperate or if they told any one. Hearing the stories finally caused me to just burst into tears.

One girl finally made the decision to go to confession because she had been molested by an uncle many years earlier and she felt so guilty. She couldn’t stand the guilt and she finally went to confession.
The priest listened, then wanted to see her face and know her name. The child thought, “Wow. What I did must have been really bad for him to want to see my face.”
He then told her she needed therapy. You can guess what that “therapy” consisted of.
He once told her that she wasn’t working hard enough on her therapy and she’d never be forgiven by God, would never go to heaven, if she didn’t work harder at it.
He ended every session by imprinting on her what a useless, disgusting whore she was.

There were so many other, very painful stories.

One nun finally realized what was happening, and tried to intervene. She was murdered. Her body was found at a dump. The priest took one of the girls to see the body, and told her “That’s what happens to people who talk about things they shouldn’t talk about.” It was a warning. Of course she never talked. Until now, 45 years later.

I just want to murder someone myself.
