Do you keep a souvenir if you've forgotten what it was supposed to remind you of?

I’m afraid I have trouble discarding mementoes and souvenirs even if I don’t remember where they came from or why I saved them.

Here’s a bar coaster, here’s a smooth white pebble, and here’s a pretty porcelain cup. All of them were supposed to remind me of someone or something. But—uh-oh. Is it just a senior moment, and it’ll come back to me? Does this little wooden box have a history I should be holding onto, and I’ll be sorry if I ditch it? And who’s Laura? Her name is in this book, and she inscribed it to me.

Do you let these things go easily, or is it a struggle?
