For someone new to exercise what works best for a home workout?

Hi, All!
I’ve decided to take control of my anxiety and now high cholesterol and start exercising. I’m slim, so not doing it to lose weight but more about getting my heart pumping as I’m pretty stationary and in front of my computer most of the time. Due to anxiety I’m thinking of getting something for home as I know I’ll do it plus I’m a single Mum so can’t just go jogging when I feel like it etc.
I’m thinking either an exercycle or a treadmill – a motorized one or a manual one (much cheaper) – what is better?
I want a cardiovascular workout to help lower my LDL and keep my heart strong.
My LDL is 4.1 and it should be 3 or much lower. Any thoughts on what is best for someone new to exercise… like very new….
