When buying something from an individual online, via a picture, do you look to see what the surrounding area looks like around the item?

I do. If the piece looks OK, but there is a bunch of shit and trash around it I go on by.

By the same token, if I’m going to post a picture of something in my house, even just for fun on Facebook, I do a little prep work first. Usually. My husband’s profile picture is one I took about 10 years ago. His damn motorcycle is parked in my nice living room! Each time I see it I cringe at the dust on the buffet. I could photoshop it I suppose but…naw.
