Have you ever taken the coward's way out of a relationship?

One way or another, it was over for you, but you didn’t want to break up outright. So—

• you made some kind of phony excuse
• you moved away
• you forced the other person to break up with you
• you withdrew gradually without explaining
• you got involved with somebody else
• you just plain lied
• you said “It’s not you. It’s me. I just need some space.” etc.

Or are you the type that will hang on until the bitter end, hoping something will change, until the other party is just worn out and you two simply fall apart?
