Are you consciously doing something that you know gets on somebody else's nerves?

Asked by Jeruba (56031points) April 26th, 2018

If so, what, and whose nerves, and why?

Snapping your gum, leaving dishes in the sink, playing loud music at night, being late for things, missing deadlines, leaving the coffee pot empty?

People at home, at work, in the neighborhood, at school?

Maybe you never deliberately intended to be a pain. But once you know you’re doing something that bothers them, even to the point that you just know they’re imagining creative ways to commit murder or at least get revenge, why do you keep it up? What’s it doing for you?
