Is it common to go through hours or days of tests only to be told "I don't know what's wrong with you."?

In my experience if a person has multiple symptoms they are usually sent for hours of costly tests only to be told, ” I don’t know what’s wrong with you . It could be this or it could be that.”
Has this happened to any of you? I have so many symptoms I doubt they’d figure it out !
