Our Mini won't start, any ideas what could be the problem?

Hi guys, we are sitting outside our grandparents house about to head back home and our Mini won’t start, everytime mother turns the key, the engine just cranks. She is pumping the pedal real fast but that is not helping so, any ideas what could be wrong or if there is anything we can do?
