What can you use a formal living room for if you have a nice den?

I have a good sized living room with gas log fireplace (ugh) , sofa, two chairs and an antique breakfront. Oh, it also has a buffet or something with drawers and cabinets.
What should I use this for or should I just be glad I have a room people never enter until I have the Christmas tree up?
