What do you waste your time doing, and at what point does "just taking a break" become an actual waste of time?

I once read, “The time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time.”

But the truth is, for probably half of us, we often waste time, even if we enjoy it, doing things that do not move us towards any real goals, productivity, time, hobbies, or even interests.

I spend a lot of time daydreaming, even though I have real goals that I am not meeting, that would be far more satisfactory. I once was a writer, but when I sit down to write, I get distracted by the internet, all the information, even writing on Fluther.

Sometimes, between showering and getting dressed, I take a little break and think about things or daydream or even drift back to sleep—and before I know it, forty minutes have passed and I am very late.

I am not taking about hobbies, which involve dedication and yield results. I’m talking about when a vacant day is closing and you haven’t accomplished a thing.

Maybe nobody wants to admit it if they waste a lot of time on trivial things or even engagements like Fluther. But for those of us who do, its hard to avoid distractions and periods of non-productivity.
