What is the most eccumberance that you can carry your groceries to home from the store?

I usually have 2 gallons, or 8 liters, of milk in a backpack, and a duffel bag full of food and maybe a couple of light items in my hand. Some times I take a taxi for $6, and only need to climb a steep stair case to my apartment..
