What would be a good cream for dry skin?

I’m itching! God I itch! I have changed laundry detergent brands as well as rinsing my clothes twice. I’ve changed soap brands for showers. I’ve recleaned sheets and clothes over and over. I said something to my son and he said, “Dry skin, Ma.”
He takes after me. He’s always right.
I already drink plenty of water, so what would be an effective cream to combat this?.
