Do you stop following a question when it becomes a back and forth between two people only?

Sometimes it is an argument that is raging between two people; sometimes it is just banter. I stop following but when it happens too much, it sucks the joy out of Fluther for me. I used to be guilty of it myself years ago but that other person is gone. We were told by the mods to lay off it after a while and after some grumbling, we did.
