Does anyone here follow Star Wars stuff?

Some one said that Yoda didn’t make his first appearance, until Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back in 1980.
I saw the original in 1977, in the theater, and I could swear he made an appearance then.

So, now I’m researching. It would appear that maybe he’s right, which leaves me scratching my head.
I learned that The original film was later subtitled Episode IV: A New Hope.

I’m pretty sure I must have seen Episode V, if it came out in 1980. Am I just conflating the two films?
