Why is Trump deregulating pollution regulations lately?

A short time a go deregulated emission standards on new vehicles, now just deregulated what industry can dump into streams and rivers.
These regulations were in place already to keep industry from polluting to their hears content now I guess it’s full steam ahead.
I guess the dollar really is god and who needs clean air and water?
