Forget about looking it up. What does the term "open borders" mean to you?

To me it seems like stream lining the border for commercial goods, but it still requires border guards.
And people still have to be checked for what country they are a citizen of, and if they have a criminal record.

That’s my take.
But I hear the right use the term as a source for fear mongering, like if open borders were to happen everybody would be murdered in their bed type thing.
