Please explain to me, what would motivate someone in San Diego (or anywhere else) to open a business called a "Smash Shack." Am I missing something?

Basically, it’s a place where people can go in to buy stuff, put on protective clothing, and smash the things they just bought.
I probably need a psychologist to tell me the WHY of this…
