Care to share positive stories about people working together to combat the coronavirus?

I know there is a lot that could have been done better and can be done better. I know a lot of people have died that didn’t need to, and a lot of people are hurting who could be better supported. I know there are people making this into a partisan issue. But I’m wanting a discussion that focuses on the wins, the successes, the positives (whether they are large or small). I’m hoping you do, too.

I’ll get the ball rolling:

On a larger scale, I heard that a Drexel study estimates that stay-at-home orders have saved over 230,000 lives across 30 major metropolitan regions in the US (and prevented over 2 million hospitalizations across those same regions). As my local area improves at social distancing practices, testing accessibility, and contact tracing capacity so that we can return to something more resembling normalcy, it’s heartening to hear the difference that the first stage of response has made (estimate has a little under 20,000 lives saved in my local area).

On a smaller scale, I was at the grocery store and realized someone was waiting to get by me. When I apologized and moved aside for them, they told me, “No worries. We’re all in this together.” It was heartening to hear. We saw each other at another part of the store and smiled at each other (well, “smized”—I think we’re all quickly getting very good at smizing), and it was nice to have that moment of connection—that yes, we are a community, and yes, we are working together.
