Do you think Kent State would happen today?

For those that don’t know, in May of 1970 unarmed college students gathered to protest the Vietnam war. ”the protest on May 4th, during which activists spoke out against the presence of the National Guard on campus as well as the Vietnam War, was initially peaceful.” But the police were called in and all hell broke loose. 4 students were shot dead.
I don’t know if any of the officers were charged with any crime.
When I hear people say we have fewer and fewer rights today, I think about Kent State…and I disagree.
Furthermore, the majority of the country agreed with the cops stepping in. Old school thinking was you just didn’t defy authority, ever. And that’s exactly what the hippies were doing.
