When you were in high school, what were some trends at the time?

My daughter interviewed me for a school project yesterday and one of the questions was “what were some trends when you were in high school?”

Music trends were New Wave music and the start of the disco era. Also rap music just started to be popular. Hair trends were Farrah Fawcett hairstyles (layers, with “wings” which were bangs that were parted in the middle). The way I explained clothing trends to my daughter were that some girls wore designer jeans and high heels, like Candies. Some girls wore flannel shirts and shoes that were called “Little Abners” which were tan leather short flat boots. I was into flannel shirts and Little Abners.
