Should schools be closing again because of Omicron?

My hometown area is resisting it and there are so far no plans to close schools.
Chicago is apparently going back to remote learning after a vote by the teachers’ union and mayor Lori Lightfoot is furious and considering legal action against the teachers’ union as a result. I’ve heard of districts in other states also going back to remote learning.
