Why, when I called AAA Member Services did I instead get something about a free medical alert device and Medicare programs?

I need to contact AAA to renew my membership. I googled the number and looked at the site, and dialed the number on the site. It was the actual, legit AAA site. When I called it, I heard voice prompts about Medicare plans, and a free offer for a medical alert device. When an actual person came on the line, she asked if I could hear her ok and I said yes, and I said I wanted to talk to D____, about renewing my membership. She went into a spiel about a free medical alert device just for calling today. I hung up because it’s apparently something else.
Can you please explain to me, if you know, what it was?
