Which would be the best way to get rid of my car?

I am going to be moving over seas hopefully in January, and I don’t want to take my car with. I have only been making payments for a little over a year (as of August), and I believe it’s a five year contract. (I’d have to double check to be sure) I’ve already asked the only person I could think of if he wanted to take over payments, but that won’t be an option. So what would be the best way to get rid of it? Sell it and pay as much as the loan off? Help please!
