Bush's impeachment status as of weeks before the elections?

So, what is the status of the intent to impeach Bush? Will this die in the political arena or will it pick up once the new President is elected? Has anyone brought the subject to Obama and if so, did he voice his opinion one way or another regarding the merits of this act or any one of the articles introduced by Congressman Dennis Kucinich?
