Can anyone give me insight to a dream I had?

So last night, I had the most vivid and terrifying dream.
It was in first person, rather than watching myself, I was seeing through my eyes. I was wandering down a dull looking street and I perceived I was at risk of being harmed. Someone who I had perceived to be travelling with was holding up a sign that said “My brother is in need of _____” and I cannot remember the last word. I feel as though everyone including myself were wearing army greens, but I may be wrong. I was standing close to another man, and had my eyes focussed on the man holding up the sign about his brother, as I watched him wander through the crowd in and out of my sight. That’s when it hit me.
I perceived a shot, and found myself on my back on the cold damp ground. I couldn’t hear anything, and the only thing I could feel was the pulse of my heart on the right side of my neck, and around that side of my collar bone. I had been shot. As my sight grew dimmer, the pain began to sink in. It was like a burning sensation wear the pulsating sensation had been, and it got worse the dimmer my sight got, until I could see nothing at all.
I woke up gasping for air and in tears.
Ever so often during the day, I would feel that pulsating sensation in my neck, I couldn’t forget the feeling.
