Do you know of a method to get video off a firewire camera onto a new aluminum Macbook?

As many know, there is no firewire on the Macbooks. I have a friend who has company purchased Macbook to work on a video diary from the road, but the camera only outputs via firewire (1080p HD). Is there an alternative way to get the video onto the Macbook?
