Is it okay to use olive oil or coconut oil as a hot oil treatment for my hair?

I’m trying to grow my hair longer, thus i need to get it healthier. I want to do a hot oil treatment to my hair cuz i heard it makes your hair really shiny and smooth, but i was wondering could i use olive oil or coconut oil or a mixture of both as a hot oil treatment??
