Has anyone ever experienced a quarter-sized sphere of light phenomenon?

I had trouble falling to sleep tonight, and when I looked over the side of the bed (it was like 5am) there was this little green point of light, about as vibrant (but bigger) than a laser point. And it was green colored and left a small trail as it moved. Staring at it, going through a checklist of what it could possibly be (so that I could dismiss it and go back to sleep), I realized that no, the router and cellphones didn’t look like that in the dark, and it was too concentrated to be a reflection… I continued to stare at it as I turn on the light, and it’s gone.

Since it weirded me out, I brought it up with the only friend awake right now, and he mentioned he had a similar story with a gold-whiteish light when he was leaning back at his computer one day. His lights were on, but there was this little ball of light. It went from his drapes, across the ceiling, and into his closet real quick. He opened his closet, and there was just this little sphere, quarter-sized, and he froze because he was scared. Then it just disappeared (similar to mine).

Does anyone else have a similar story? Any insight? I’m pursuing this a bit ‘cause I remember waking up to a red one years ago in the middle of my window. Seeing it just once, it’s definitely easier to dismiss and go right back to sleep. Second time just has me worried.
