What is the best way to remove obnoxious stickers from a laptop? Intel Inside? I don't care!

How do you remove all of the obnoxious stickers that manufacturers put on laptops? This is a 2-parter: 1) is there a good technique for peeling them off? 2) Best way to remove residue?
I ordered a new little lappy, and am trying to get everything sorted out before it arrives ;)
