What can I do about my stinky dog?

I swear when he gets out of the bath he still stinks. It’s not his anal glands or his face or ears but it smells like it’s his skin. I have tried various shampoos and sprays and over bathe him so he can sleep with me but I feel like I am walking around smelling like a wet dog.
