If I have pictures/files on one user, can I make a new user then move my files over to that user?

I have a bunch of pictures and files on a family user on this computer, because my computer’s power supply crashed, so I am using the family computer for now. If I make my own user is it possible to move my pictures over from the Family user to my own user? I am using Windows Vista (which is another reason why I hate using the family computer).
